This type of expansion joints are indispensable elements in the construction of piping. They are used to compensate changes in length of the pipeline resulting from the effects of temperature. In some cases, they are able to intercept the vibration generated during the operation of pumps, motors, compressors or turbines. Compensated displacements may be axial, lateral and angular, respectively for needs. Properties of the compensator are based on the flexibility of bellows.
Such flexibility results from the form and number of the bellow waves; on the single-layer compensator it results on the thickness of the bellows; the multi-layer compensator flexibility results from the number of the waves, layers and material. Each expansion bellow is subjected to appropriate trials and has the adequate approvals.

In addition to fabric, bellows and rubber expansion joints Energo-Mar also offers steel compensators such as: choke and lenticular. There are three forms of lenticular compensator i.e. circular, quadrilateral or polygon. According to customer request these expansion joints are made from steel or stainless steel.

Choke compensator

Rubber expansion joints are used in heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, power plants, refineries, chemical plants, shipbuilding and many other industries. Beyond high extensibility they are characterized by a high movement absorption and excellent noise reduction. According to the expansion joints application there are different kinds of rubber. Fabrics of synthetic fibers (such as Nyloncord or Stahlcord) are used as the pressure medium. Flanged connections are self-sealing.
